

Chemical × Acids
The term acid originated from the Latin word “acidus” i.e. sour. An acid can be described as chemical compound that gives a solution of pH<7, on dissolving with water. The resultant solution has a greater hydrogen ion activity as compared to pure water. An acid may be strong as well as dilute depending upon its concentration. There are various types of acids that find its uses in both industrial as well as domestic uses. For domestic uses generally dilute form of acids are used but in industrial uses the concentrated form is preferred.
